Fall Colors

Autumn is in full swing in Minnesota.  This is one of my favorite times of the year.  The weather is calm, the temperature is right and the trees are gorgeous - to me they look like fireworks across the sky.  These pictures were taken by a friend of mine from church as he walked along the Mississippi River this week near St. Thomas.  Watch for the peak of fall foliage in your area on The Weather Channel's website.

This past weekend Jesse and I visited Minnetonka Orchards in Minnetrista, Minnesota.  It was the perfect way to celebrate the first day of Autumn.

Gopher Football

I finally made it to the University of Minnesota TCF stadium! It was a great night, even though it was chilly! And, the Gophers brought home a win against Syracuse, 17-10!

August 30, my friends and I had a great time cruising Lake Minnetonka, swimming and stopping at local bars to celebrate Sarah Glover's big wedding day.  It was absolutely awesome and I would do it again just to have a good time.

Painting

Painting and wine sessions for rookie's I've noticed have become very popular this summer. I myself have not done one yet, but one of my very best friends Amie is a professional artist on her own.  She's always inviting others to come paint with her, so I took her up on it.  Both times were absolutely wonderful and I think I've found a new 'happy place'. My mind and body felt so inspired, relaxed and creative.  This is what a painted last week.  The artwork on the left was my first, and I used her backyard fence as a model.  The painting on the right is a sunflower.  It will be a gift to my mom at her birthday next week.

More about Amie:  Amie is a beautiful, passionate artist. I'd describe her artwork as colorful, dramatic, lifelike and vivid. Pedal Pubbin'

This weekend my college friend's rented a Pedal Pub to cruise North East Minneapolis and celebrate Micaela's birthday. It was awesome and a great way to enjoy a night on the town in a new way, get some light exercise and enjoy a cool brew.

St. Paul Saints

Minnesota has been gifted a beautiful spring, and going to a St. Paul Saints is a perfect way to enjoy the beautiful months ahead.  Last week, a group of us went to the home opener against the Gary Indiana RailCats.  We ended up losing 5-4, but had a great time.  I'm not sure why it is, but minor leagues have so much more fun during the games.  Watching the activities going on around the game is just as good as the game, I swear! And, I love to watch baseball!
