Colossal Cafe

This past Sunday I went to the Colossal Cafe in South Minneapolis for brunch with my Gram.

The tiny building stands only a couple of blocks from where I grew up and hasn't changed much during my lifetime. However, the Colossal Cafe is by far the best product ever housed there.  The full menu is homemade from scratch - using all locally produced ingredients.  If you want to check it out get there early - there are only 15 chairs!  And, they are only open from 6am - 3pm Tuesday - Sunday.

From the success of the Minneapolis cafe, a second location opened in St. Paul that is much larger and has longer hours, which includes dinner.

Congrats to the Colossal Cafe!  I'll surely be back.  :)

Kari's Wedding

One week ago my dear friend Kari was married. The day started out with some showers, but as the morning went on, the July day turned beautiful - and hot! They wed at the couple's church in the morning, then celebrated with a boat ride brunch down the Mississippi. Guests were given classic coke bottles wrapped in their colors, along with a bottle opener signed with their names and date tied on.  Jesse had a really important test that afternoon, so my dad stepped as my date. Those dad's never let a girl down, do they? ;-)

Bascillica Block Party

Pedal Pubbin'

This weekend my college friend's rented a Pedal Pub to cruise North East Minneapolis and celebrate Micaela's birthday. It was awesome and a great way to enjoy a night on the town in a new way, get some light exercise and enjoy a cool brew.

Minnehaha Falls

Spring is here! We've been blessed in Minnesota with an easy winter and early spring, but now the season has caught up with the kind of weather we've been having!  Besides the warm weather, I love the fresh scents of floral and produce growing.  I took a walk with my family this past weekend at a favorite spot of many Minneapolis natives, Minnehaha Falls.
