Make Yourself Shine

by Meredith

Last month I found the awesome lip gloss and body shimmer at Victoria's Secret.  I hadn't really shopped for makeup there before, but now will.  They have some awesome stuff to make you feel glamorous.  Their Sparkling Lip Gloss line is extra-smooth and gives you a luminous shimmer and the All-Over Shimmer you simply dust on for a glow.

{Sparking Lip Gloss}

{All-Over Shimmer - I prefer the Bronze though}

by Meredith

This past weekend I shared a beautiful February morning walk around Lake Harriet with my family. Perfect Saturday and had breakfast at a South Minneapolis favorite, Zumbros.

Bead Necklaces

by Meredith

Beads are simple, classic and elegant. Many times you can find them up for grabs at rummage sales for cheap too.  I was fortunate enough to find my own red, pink and turquoise necklaces at a church fall sale last year and love them. Now I want them in every tint!  They are a great (and easy) way to slip on new colors to any of my outfits.

DIY Bouquet

by Meredith

I'm always in awe of the intricate floral bouquets and centerpieces I see.  They are so beautiful - busting with vibrant colors and so perfectly placed in vases or ribbons.  I've been trying to find out how I can do this myself and now thanks to a fellow blogger Cupcakes and Cashmere I can. (Click the link to learn how too!)
Tools:
  • Vase
  • Oasis (a water-soaked piece of foam used to keep flowers in place
  • Ti leaves
  • Cutting shears
  • 1/2" wide clear tape
  • Flowers
  • Water

Ponchos

by Meredith

I love the knit white poncho I received as a gift this Christmas.  It's beautiful, soft, super comfortable and warm, it actually feels like I'm wearing a blanket, which I love during the winter! Ponchos have been around a long time.  Originating by the Native American people of the Andes and pre-Hispanic times - this outer garment was designed to keep the body warm or and dry.

Sweater Dress

by Meredith

First, Happy Birthday to me!  Today is my 26th birthday and I'm looking forward to working during the day with my fabulous team (and picking up my free birthday cup of coffee at Caribou) and a fun night out with my family at a local favorite of mine in South Minneapolis, The Malt Shop.  I feel you must always celebrate birthdays and the year that you've accomplished, further embrace your age as each stage of our life offers something new.

Second, I want to share my love for sweater dresses.  I have way too many, but am ok with it because they are so comfortable, warm and chic this time of year. I like to pair them with tall boots, tights and fun earrings and/or a cocktail ring for a splash of color. This day I was feeling stones a you can see.  I chose my turquoise ring and amber earrings for a terrific combo.

Valentine's

by Meredith

Valentine's Day is right around the corner and I always enjoy this Hallmark holiday as some say (single or not) because I just love the colors, chocolates, flowers, etc and especially the idea of making someone you care about feel special.  One thing I've always done is make Valentine's and send them via snail mail to my friends and family.  It's my way of saying I love you.  I suggest you do the same, pick them up at your local store or create your own.  It can be real simple!  You still have a couple of weeks so get on it!
